Johns-Manville — Denver CO Corporate HQ and Ken-Caryl Ranch Campus
Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that they were exposed to asbestos while working at the Johns-Manville corporate headquarters and research campus in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area — including the Ken-Caryl Ranch campus in Jefferson County that served as J-M’s post-1972 world headquarters and research and development center. For the full corporate summary, see the Johns-Manville manufacturer page.
Plant Description and Operating Era
Johns-Manville relocated its corporate headquarters from New York City to the Denver CO area in the early 1970s, developing the Ken-Caryl Ranch campus southwest of Denver as its world headquarters and research and development center. The Denver-area campus housed corporate offices, R&D laboratories, and technical services staff throughout the balance of J-M’s U.S. asbestos era, and remained the seat of the reorganized company after J-M’s August 26, 1982 Chapter 11 filing.
